The first thing is, I
can't seem to make the leap to talking about
myself in the third person... My name is
Kris Galli and, to be honest, I think I
taught myself to
paint because I just didn't fit in anywhere
else. That, and I wanted to make my own
lunch hour. Lunch is so important...
I've been
painting for about twenty years, with the
exception of those times when I'd take a
long drive and throw all my brushes into the
woods in a fit of despair. Later, I'd
have to find them, and I ended up with all
kinds of cuts and scratches. Now I tend to
just throw them out onto the lawn. Anyway,
it's something that just keeps following me.
I
can't stop painting. Not for long.
For many years, I
sold my work through the Clark Whitney
Gallery, a place in Lenox, MA that was owned
by my good friend Ruth Kochta, R.I.P., to
whom I owe a great deal. Thanks Ruth.
Now, I divide my time
between Lenox and Keene, NH, and my work is
shown at a gallery called Studio 47 in
Woodstock, VT, along with occasional group
shows around the Northeast. I live with my
husband, Edward Acker, who is a
photographer.
On this site, you'll
see some of my recent work, and a few older pieces.
I've recently made some of my sold pieces
available as giclee prints. They're in
editions of fifty, matted and signed. If
you'd like yours framed, we can arrange
that, too.
So there it is. No
formal schooling, no
congressional medal of honor. Most days, I
barely leave the house. I do, however, have
lots of paint and lots of nice ideas. If you're
interested in anything, drop me a line. I'll be updating
frequently, so please visit often. Peace,
Kris
